Even the drive through the hilly landscape around Gornji Humac is worth the effort: the road is lined with the remains of pre-Romanesque places of worship which are, however, of no Christian origin. Their exposed position, always chosen on the highest points of the area, quickly showed archaeologists that these are relics of the cults of the Neretva clan. But in Gornji Humac itself something exciting awaits the visitor too: the farmers here are famous throughout
Croatia for their delicious cheese, which they make to old - naturally secret - recipes. And where could it taste better than perfectly fresh at the farm? Anyone who prefers things more comfortable can stop off at one of the restaurants or buy a culinary souvenir, which will however probably scarcely survive more than a few days!
