If one strolls at leisure through the lanes of Sutivan, one gets the impression that everything here that is not garden is old. For the inhabitants of the place not only share the passion of letting plants grow, they also devote themselves intensively to the care of the past. So we still find today the church of Sveti Ivan, which was erected in the 15th century on the foundation of a building from the 6th century, various town houses of famous families, a quaint cemetery and the parish church in Renaissance style. In between, again and again: gardens, parks, green spaces. The region's rich flora is also what the town's most beautiful legend is thanks to: allegedly the poet Kavanjin, who lived here, never consulted a doctor his whole life long, but led a life free of pain and illness through herbs he grew himself and medicine he produced independently. Sutivan is still the prototype of the "tranquil little nest" - yet slowly tourism is making its entry here too. For that purpose freshwater showers have been specially installed on the beach at the eastern end of the town, and many families are offering the first guest rooms.
