Besides all the usual achievements that tourism brings with it (restaurants, "Bauhaus" architecture, almost genuine branded goods), Slatine has a relic from the times before extreme mobility: the konoba, where the local population still meets today, is an inn offering large portions and home-pressed wine cheaply. It lies a little outside the town centre, right by the harbour. Stone beaches stretch out beside the harbour basin; on the way inland one finds the historic centre of Slatine. A little outside, in the south-east, the hermits used to live. Their home town looks as though it might slide off the rocks at any moment - yet all visitors and overnight guests so far have felt safe (and rightly so!).
