Excursion destinations around Trogir - 1.) Nationalpark Krka, 2.) Primosten, 3.) Kastela, 4.) Solin, 5.) Split
Krka National Park

Krka national park: the famous waterfalls are only one of the attractions that nature puts on display in the grounds of the nature park: the countless lakes, islands, cascades, hills and walking trails, along with a varied flora and fauna, would easily have sufficed for five parks. If you want to let the wealth of Dalmatian nature work on you in a particularly relaxed way, you should join one of the boat trips and let yourself be rocked past the loveliest corners of the park.
Primošten
The island at the centre of the "dry cape", reached across an artificially built-up causeway, cultivates a quite idiosyncratic tradition of winegrowing: instead of large vineyards, a vine grows here and there in a front garden or on allotment-sized plots that confidently let themselves be called a "field". The devotion of the winegrowers is inversely large, and the Croatian sun does the rest to turn the wine into a delicacy. Enjoy it best after a stroll through the traditional old town.
the Kastelas

On a narrow coastal strip between the country road and the sea, between Trogir and Split, lies the town of Kaštela, which grew together out of the settlements around thirteen fortifications, seven of which still stand today. The individual districts are named after their respective kaštel, the town after the road that runs through it, and the fortresses themselves for the most part after their builders. That makes it easy for strangers to orientate themselves and quickly find the castle that interests them most - making that choice, however, is hard!
Solin
On the ruins of the ancient city of Salona, Solin was built between Split and Trogir. Many a Roman might even have commented on the new inhabitants with "These Soliners are crazy!" - for around 1900 a house was once again built here from materials and by methods that were customary in the time of the first settlers. The people of Solin also cultivate cultural traditions with great passion: almost every one of the nearly 20 thousand inhabitants belongs to a dance, orchestral, theatre or singing group, and a correspondingly large number of events are staged here. It is almost impossible to miss them all!
Split

Who gets to live in a museum? The lucky ones who were allowed to set up their flats above the shops in the former stables and noble chambers of Diocletian's Palace do, more or less. For the city's most famous structure is not some tourist assembly point guarded by grim security staff, but to this day the pulsating heart of the city. Many a visitor has to be told that they have long since been standing inside Diocletian's Palace while they are still puzzling over their city map looking for it. Just as relaxed as Split is about its world cultural heritage, so easy-going is life in the metropolis too: inexpensive restaurants, well-kept beaches, cafés with dreamlike sea views and a rich cultural offering make the "I'm coming back here" decision very easy on the very first visit.
